Donna Mae Prepeluh, 82, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield with Rev. Dan Thelen officiating. Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard will conduct a tribute prior to the start of the funeral. A livestream of the service will be available on Donna Mae’s obituary page at rembsfh.com. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 16 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield with St. John’s PCCW reciting the rosary at 4:00 pm.
Donna Mae was born on March 19, 1944 in Milwaukee to Donald and Annie (Weinfurter) Hahn. She attended St. Joachim Grade School, Maryheart High School, and was a graduate of Pittsville High School. After graduating, she started at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a nursing assistant, then went to technical college and became an LPN. She later went to college and obtained her license as a Registered Nurse.
Donna Mae was united in marriage to James Prepeluh on December 1, 1973.
Donna Mae worked at St. Joseph Hospital in various departments before joining Marshfield Clinic, where she spent 15 years in dialysis. She later transitioned to ambulatory surgery, dedicating 26 years to patient care. Throughout her career, she found great fulfillment in caring for patients and supporting their families. In total, she served 40 years in clinic settings and 8 years in the hospital. Beyond her professional life, she volunteered at the hospital and was actively involved in her children’s schools for many years, as well as in her church groups. She had a deep love for creativity and nature, enjoying crafts and tending to her perennial and vegetable gardens. She also cherished being with, and taking care of, her grandchildren and spending time with her children and their families. She and Jim enjoyed polka dancing, going on trips, and Minocqua vacations with family.
She is survived by her husband, James, children: Jennifer (Steve) McAndrew of Plymouth, MN, Jill (Eric) Gordee of Rockford, MN, and Marc (Ashley) Prepeluh of St. Michael, MN, and grandchildren: Avery and Ellen Gordee, Jackson and Jordan McAndrew, and Grady and Griffin Prepeluh.
Donna is further survived by her siblings, Marlene (Robert) Grossman of Arpin, Ronald (Sherry) Hahn of Wisconsin Rapids, Jack (Kathy) Hahn of Pittsville, Katie (Dave) Weinfurter of Arpin, Marge (Rick) Marten of Pittsville, Dianne Kleinhenz of Wisconsin Rapids, Betty (Roger) Sherwood of Arpin, Gene (Dani) Hahn of Stevens Point, and Sandy (Steve) Hughes of Pittsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sisters at birth, and brother in law, Art Kleinhenz.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John’s Catholic Church.
