Donna J. Drexler, 79 of Marshfield died on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Wells Nature View Assisted Living in Marshfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Sam Martin officiating. Cindy Penker along with St. John's Funeral Choir will provide the music. Entombment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Visitations will be from 4-7pm Tuesday at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and again on Wednesday at the church from 9:30am until service time. There will be a Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary service at 4pm Tuesday at Rembs. Donna was born on December 29, 1936 in Drywood, WI (Chippewa County) to Clinton and Evelyn (Kirby) Bell. She was a 1954 graduate of McDonnell High in Chippewa Falls and from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1957. Donna started her nursing career at St. Joseph's Hospital and later taught nurse's aide training at Mid-State Technical College in Marshfield. She continued her career at Norwood Health Care Center until her retirement. She and her husband enjoyed the cabin life, first on Round Lake and later at Squaw Lake, fishing from sunup til sundown on most days. Her other hobbies included reading, especially the newspaper and her bible. She was united in marriage to LaVerne R. ″Rocky″ Drexler on October 26, 1957 in Chippewa Falls. Rocky sadly passed away on May 10, 2014. Donna is survived by her children Daniel (Gail) Drexler of Hudson, David (Julie) Drexler, Dawn (friend Barry) Drexler both of Marshfield, and her foreign exchange daughter Yumi Hamada of Kobe Japan; two grandsons Matthew and Zachary Drexler. She is further survived by her sister Belinda Rubenzer of Chippewa Falls as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Tom Bell.
