Donald H. McCauley, 80, Marshfield, died on Monday, May 5, 2014 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Daryn Bahn officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 9:30 am until service time at Rembs Funeral Home. Donald was born on June 16, 1933 in Astoria, Oregon, the son of Joseph McCauley and Dorothy Green. He married Lois J. Swanson on August 22, 1951 in Astoria, Oregon. Donald was employed at Johnson Hills Department Store in Marshfield and when the store closed he purchased it and founded McCauley's Department Store. The McCauley's operated the store until it's closing in the early 1970's. They then moved to Texas where he was employed in the credit department at Mitsubishi. They returned to Wisconsin in 2002. Donald enjoyed his family, flea markets and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Lois and their children, Don (Janet) McCauley of Spencer, Randy (Cindy) McCauley of Marinette, Lori (David) Klumb of River Falls, Rick (Karen) McCauley of Stratford, and Douglas (Celeste) McCauley of Mineral Wells, Texas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is further survived by a brother, Charles (Arlene) McCauley of Eugene, Oregon and a brother-in-law, Delmar Swanson of Niobrara, Nebraska. He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Debra and his mother and father-in-law, Letty and Verner Swanson. The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
