Don was born on November 25, 1935 in Marshfield to Ben and Susan (Felten) Mancl. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1953. After graduating, he worked at Rollohome from 1953 to 1954. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1962. On September 7, 1963, he married Berniece Wenzel at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Don then spent 35 years working at Felkers, from 1962 until his retirement in 1998. Don and Berniece spent their winters in Texas with friends and family from 1998 – 2018.

He was an avid camper. Don also enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and gardening. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, proud grandfather and great grandfather, and devoted caregiver. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Berniece, daughter, Kathie (Erik) Langfoss, son, Gary (Julie) Mancl, grandchildren, Riley (Lauren) Langfoss, Claire Langfoss (Gunnar Gregoire), Jaren Mancl (Olivia Russell), and Ben Mancl (Shaelee Wallner), and great granddaughter, Lenora Langfoss.

He is further survived by his brother, Jim (Lois) Mancl. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Susan, son, Jeffrey Mancl, mothers and father in law, Ray and Rose Wenzel and Marie Wenzel, and brothers in law, Ken Wenzel and Orville Weber.

A quote that is reminiscent of Don's life – "A legacy is not what's left tomorrow when you're gone. It's what you give, create, impact, and contribute today while you're here."

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Marshfield Medical Center, Stoney River Assisted Living, and Compassus for their compassionate care.
