Obituary

Donald E. Linzmeier, 87, Milladore, lost his courageous battle with cancer, peacefully, with family by his side on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Golden Living Center Three Oaks, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker with Rev. Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and on Thursday from 10:00 am until service time at St. Kilian's Catholic Church. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Donald was born on March 30, 1928 in Milladore to Charles and Barbara (Koller) Linzmeier. He graduated from St. Kilian's Parochial School, Blenker. He was united in marriage to Delores M. Schroedel on May 28, 1949 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Sigel. As a young man he farmed and then began working for Duralum Roofing and Siding, and then later worked at Rapids Wholesale, until his retirement. Don was a member of Sherry Volunteer Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus Council 4646 of Junction City of which he had served as Grand Knight. He is survived by his wife, Delores and their children, Deacon Vernon (Ruth) Linzmeier of Plover, Phillip (Lynn) Linzmeier, Janice Linzmeier, and Joyce Martin, all of Milladore and Rose Horn of Port Washington and a son-in-law, Larry Trunek of Mukwonago. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Linda Trunek, a son-in-law, Paul Martin, brothers, Richard, George, Silverious, Joseph, Walter, Frank, Godfrey and Charles Linzmeier and sisters, Rose Linzmeier, Mary Linzmeier, Barbara Collignan and Margaret Lobner.
