Donald Lee Hoefs, 49 of Athens died on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the House of the Dove. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 12 at Center City Church in Marshfield. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10am until time of services at the church. Donald was born on October 5, 1967 in Marshfield to John and Lorraine (Krueger) Hoefs. He attended schools in Marshfield and was a 1987 graduate of Marshfield Senior High. He worked at Equity Livestock Sales in Stratford for a few years; then he worked for Ron Diedrich on the farm near Athens. He enjoyed being around animals and listening to country music (Luke Bryan being his favorite singer). He is survived by his mother Lorraine Hoefs of Marshfield; and three sisters Sherrie, Debbie, and Lori Hoefs of Marshfield. A friend Julie Diedrich and daughter Heather of Athens. Donald was predeceased by his father John Charles Hoefs and his brother John Allen Hoefs, his grandparents, Marvin and Lydia Krueger and Charles and Alma Hoefs, His father John C. Hoefs, and his brother John A. Hoefs. The family would like to thank the staff at the House of the Dove for taking such wonderful care of Donald while he was there. Donald, you will be missed.
