Donald G. "Fuzzy" Foster, 84, Marshfield, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 655 S Lake Ave, Phillips, WI, with Rev. Madanu Lourdu Raju officiating. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and from 1:00 pm until service time on Friday at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Phillips. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, in Phillips, where military rites will be conducted.
Donald was born on May 18, 1938, in Phillips, Wisconsin, the son of David G. and Anna Foster. He attended public schools in Phillips and graduated from Phillips High School in 1956. He then enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After his honorable discharge, Fuzzy worked at the Phillips Bee newspaper where his father was the editor/owner. On July 18, 1959, he married Jacquelyn "Jacki" Baratka at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Phillips. They were married for 50 years, and she was the love of his life. In 1971, Fuzzy and Jacki moved to Marshfield where they raised their family and Fuzzy continued to work in the printing business and retired from the Marshfield Clinic print shop.
After retirement Fuzzy and Jacki traveled the country in their RV finding new friends and re-connecting with old ones. Fuzzy had a contagious personality and made everyone feel welcomed.
Fuzzy was an avid outdoorsman and loved riding his four-wheeler on the trails of northern Wisconsin and he was always up for a game of cribbage or any other card game.
He is survived by his children, Mark of Appleton, Jodi (Mike) Frye of Indianapolis, IN, and Kelli (Ron) Buffo of Louisville, CO. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Ryan (Nikki), Ben (Danielle), and Bracken (Erik) Foster, Kayla, Hayley, and Dustin Frye, and Angela and Bill Buffo, and by great grandchildren, Dakhota, Weston and Lennyn Foster. He is further survived by two sisters, Mary Foster and Helen Manske and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, his wife, Jacki, a daughter and son-in-law, Penni and Ed Wilke and a granddaughter, Jennifer Wilke
Following Donald's burial, there will be a Life Celebration at the Wisconsin Concrete Park: N8236 State Highway 13, Phillips, WI 54555
