Donald A. Dieringer, age 101, passed away peacefully, with his daughter, Lori, at his side on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A private family prayer service was held at Rembs Funeral Home. A combined Mass of Christian burial for Don and his daughter Sue who passed away on May 20, 2025, will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 19, 2025, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 10:00 am until service time. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Rev. Jared Clements will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, and a luncheon will follow at Rembs Celebration Center. After the luncheon, there will be a time for sharing of memories at the home of Jake and Lori Gropp, 11687 Robin Road, Marshfield, weather permitting.
Donald was born on July 18, 1923, in the Town of Lincoln, Wood County, to Norbert and Irene (Thomer) Dieringer. He married Anita R. Treutel on June 26, 1946, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. She died on April 26, 2001. He later married Mary Jane (Rinka) Zukowski in August 2007. She died on August 26, 2024.
As a young man, Don grew up on the family farm in the Town of Lincoln, and at 18 he bought a truck and started his own milk hauling business. He then owned and operated D & R Furniture Store in Marshfield with his brother-in-law, Gordon Rasmussen, until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed many winters in Sarasota, Florida and had a close group of friends both in Florida and Wisconsin.
He is survived by his children, Don (Linda) Dieringer of Fort Myers, FL, Sue Dieringer of Green River, WY, Lori (Jake) Gropp of Marshfield, a daughter-in-law, Danielle Dieringer of Marshfield, and Mary Jane's loving family. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by Anita and Mary Jane, a son, Steve Dieringer, a grandson, Eddie Dieringer in infancy, a brother, John Dieringer and a sister, Lucille Seubert.
The family would like to thank everyone at Aster for the wonderful care that Don received.
Memorials may be designated in Don's name to Our Lady of Peace Parish or Columbus Catholic Schools.
