Dolores C. Baker, 79 of Pittsville passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday, January 21, 2016 at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Pittsville with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joachim's Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Wednesday at the Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville and again on Thursday at the church from 9:30 am until service time There will be a PCCW Rosary service at 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Dolores was born on July 16, 1936 in Rock Island, IL to James and Florence (Sandberg) West. She graduated from Alleman Catholic High School in Rock Island in 1954. She was united in marriage to Duane R. Baker on February 27, 1954 in Rock Island, IL. She moved to Pittsville in 1960 where she raised her family. Dolores was employed at Figi's as a kitchen supervisor for over 20 years. She was an active member of St. Joachim's Parish, Wisconsin Rapids Deanery and the La Crosse Diocese. Dolores was a Cub Scout leader and den mother of Troop 123 of Pittsville for many years. She is survived by her husband Duane, children Steven (Pamela Knight-Baker) Baker of Rock Island, IL, Carolyn (David) Olson of Fond du Lac, Michael Baker of Rock Island, Diane (David) Herkert of Moline, IL, Denise Park of Pittsville, Cynthia (Dennis) Meador of Montpelier, IA, Leslie (Mark) Thomas of Wadsworth, OH, Mark Baker of Pittsville, John (Suzanne) Baker of Vesper, Paul (Sonhui) Baker of Fridley, MN, Janet (Larry) Carolfi of Marshfield; 34 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister Patricia Krasner of Peoria, IL and a sister-in-law Marilyn West of Rock Island. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Roy West.
