Diane Jean Creola, age 80, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side, on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Rev. Daniel Williams will officiate.

Diane was born on November 11, 1942, in Markesan, Wisconsin, to Harry and Clara (Miller) Sauer and was a 1960 graduate of Markesan High School. She was married to Don Creola from 1961 until 1991 and they had three children, Darcy, Denise and Dena.

Diane had been library director at the Pittsville Library from 1975 until her retirement in 2012 after 37 years. She loved to share her voracious love of reading with others. She especially enjoyed working with children during "story hour." After her retirement she enjoyed meeting friends for coffee, going to the YMCA, playing bridge, visiting her children and grandchildren, and was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Bill) Creola-Ross of Franklin, WI and Dena (Mike) Van Dyck of Fredonia, WI. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Dave Anderson and grandchildren, Allison and Adam Milbert and a great grandson, Teddy Milbert.

She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Darcy Anderson, Darcy's first husband Ted Milbert, and her sister and brother-in-law, Carlene and Tom Nimlos.

Memorials may be designated to the American Cancer Society or to the Pittsville or Marshfield Public Libraries.
