It is with great sadness that the family of Dennis Eugene Krenn, a resident of Green Bay WI, announces his passing on Thursday Dec 2, 2021, at Brown County Community Treatment Center.
Dennis was born July 1, 1953, in Fond du Lac, WI to Frederick E. and Mildred A. (Hobbs) Krenn.
His family lived in Fond du Lac for several years before moving to a hobby farm in Van Dyne, WI. There he learned to love nature and raising animals. The family moved to Lindsey, WI. in 1969.
In 1971 he graduated at Pittsville High School and went to college at UW Marshfield and then at UW Stevens Point. He studied Choral Music and Education and received a BS Degree in Psychology, Broad Field Social Studies and Secondary Education, BA Degree in Vocal Performance.
While studying, his love for music grew and he was involved with the Florentine Opera. The group went on tour in Washington D.C. for the U.S. Bicentennial. The UWSP group made an LP recording of their songs. The group flew to Poland, West Germany and Austria singing in churches and Cathedrals. He was in Madrigals, Swing Choir, Musicals and many plays and Operas at both the UW Marshfield and UWSP.
Dennis was proud to be part of the Fort Howard Neighborhood Association in Green Bay supporting the efforts of the Community Policing Department in the neighborhood and surrounding areas. He was also heavily dedicated to and was co-founder of POSITIVE VOICE, Inc. serving the LGBTQ community of Green Bay and the surrounding areas.
Dennis had a great love for music, and he was honored to sing for numerous weddings, funerals, and for church. For many years he sang with the Dudley Birder Chorale, (Holiday Pops) and in the Doctors in Recital in Green Bay.
Dennis was a Former IT-Security at Shopko from 1971-1995 traveling all over the U.S. to train employees. He worked as an IT Trainer at American Medical Security Life Insurance from 1995-1998. He was employed as an IT Facilitator Lead at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital 1999-2017 until his retirement. Shortly after he developed Frontal Temporal Dementia that ravaged his mind & speech.
He had so many different interests, fixing cars, home renovating, singing, painting, gardening and crafting. Above all he adored, loved and cherished his family and friends beyond measure. Dennis had a magnetic personality, quick wit and a boisterous contagious laugh, and a smile that could melt your heart. He was a gentleman, a gracious, and honorable man. We feel blessed to have had him in our lives. He will greatly be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother Mildred, and siblings Darcy (Sue); Jo Ann (Ray); nephews and nieces: Isaiah Draeger, Angie (Justin) Brusky, Trinity, Hannah. Jason (Sara) Krenn; Sara, Caden, Grace, Courtney. Amy (Jay) Loos; Kyle. Justin (Janel); Tanner, Braxton, Javin, Vanessa, Aaliyah. Amanda (Eric) Kraus; Aiden, Addison, Henley, Kennedy, Luna. He is also fondly remembered by partner Tim Carlson, Tarrin, Garrett, and Courtney. He was predeceased by his father, Fred Krenn.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rembs Funeral Home, and a memorial service will be conducted Spring of 2022.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Richfield, Wood County.
The family would like to give their thanks and gratitude to the doctors and all caregivers at Brown County Community Treatment Center throughout his last journey in his life, and his guardian Autumn.
