Obituary

Dennis J. “Fritz” Frodl, 72, of Bruce passed away Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at the Bruce Assisted Living Center under the care of Marshfield Medical Center Hospice of Rice Lake.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11am at Saint Kilian Catholic Church in Blenker with Father Angisamy officiating. Music will be provided by the St. Kilian Folk Choir. Interment will follow immediately after Mass in the Parish Cemetery. The family welcomes relatives and friends for visitation from 9am until time of service at church.

Dennis was born August 22, 1953 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids to Marvin and Lorraine (Grassel) Frodl. He grew up in the Sherry area on his parent’s farm and attended St. Kilian’s Grade School in Blenker and Auburndale High School, graduating from there in 1971. Dennis had worked as a commercial truck driver for many years before his illness. He was an avid sports enthusiast and had been a softball player in his youth. Dennis had a passion for horses and had owned several for a time. His family also remembers him for his talent for cooking.

Dennis is survived by his mother Lorraine Frodl-Haasl of Marshfield, son Garrett (Sandra Pumper) of Wausau, and his brothers & sisters: Karen (Rick) Kowieski of Stevens Point, Jane Frodl of Marshfield, Carol (Jerry) Kellum of Kirksville, MO, Joe (Dawn) Frodl of Pewaukee, and Karl (Kay) Frodl of Marshfield. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

His is preceded in death by his son Samuel Frodl, father Marvin Frodl, step-father Phil Haasl, and nephew Eric Virsnieks.
