Delbert Arthur Paulman died October 1, 2015 at House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin, of prostate cancer.
Delbert was born on January 28, 1931 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Arthur and Ada Paulman. He served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1956. He worked as an insurance examiner in the State of Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner's office for 39 years. He was a long time member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a volunteer driver for the Red Cross for 17 years.
On June 17, 1961 Del married Rosella Voigt in Madison, where he resided until his death. They have two sons, Steven Paulman of Madison and Dr. Scott Paulman (Dr. Kristin Gerndt) of Marshfield. He enjoyed traveling in Europe, Asia, Egypt, Canada, Mexico and the U.S. He also loved working in the yard, listening to classical music and was an avid photographer.
Mr. Paulman is survived by his wife, his sons, his grandsons, Craig, Lucas and Ryan Paulman, his sister, Laverne Osswald of Weston and many nieces and nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, George Brendemuehl and a half brother, Dale Brendemuehl.
The family is grateful for the compassionate care he received throughout his illness from many providers including Dr. Huie, Dr. Howard, Dr. Claessens and the staff at the House of the Dove.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield where the visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30 am until service time. Burial will take place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Easton, Marathon County.
Memorials in his honor may be submitted to Wisconsin Public Radio, The National Parks Association, The UW Carbone Cancer Center or Bethel Lutheran Church.
