Dean D. Birkebak 67of Junction City died on Sunday evening, May 15, 2016 at his home. Dean was born on April 2, 1949 in Oshkosh to Clarence and Agnes (Trettin) Birkebak. They moved to Lindsey when Dean was 9 years old and attended area schools, graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1967 where he played football. He loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. Dean was employed at Biron Mill and retired in 2004. He was married to Jean Gustin in 1976 and later divorced. He then married Patricia M. Brittain in 2005. He is survived by his wife Patricia, two sons, Matt (Allison) Birkebak of Milwaukee and Jeremy (Jessica) Gustin of Wisconsin Rapids; two stepchildren, Sean (Heather) Brittain of Beloit and Edward Brittain of Junction City. He is further survived by a sister Raechael Shirland of Lafayette, CO and a brother William Shirland of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Alice Rodziewicz.
