David L. Wolfe, 85 of rural Junction City died at his home on Friday, September 13, 2013 with his family at his side. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Junction City with Rev. Dr. Timothy W. Roser officiating. Burial will be in Runkel Cemetery, town of Eau Pleine, Portage County with his grandchildren as pallbearers. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Tuesday at the Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City and again on Wednesday at the church from 10am until service time. David was born in Junction City on August 15, 1928 to Jesse and Meta (Borth) Wolfe. He attended Wolfe School near his home. He was united in marriage to Velma A. Hanson on June 23, 1951 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Junction City. In his early years, he hauled canned milk for area farmers, drove truck for the township and helped bury telephone lines to eliminate party lines. David farmed his entire life in the town of Eau Pleine and enjoyed hunting and playing Santa Claus for various functions and parades. He is survived by his wife Velma, children Connie Peplinski of Stevens Point, Sandra Waltenberg of Mosinee June (Allen) Hogan of Junction City, and Elizabeth (Gene) Sprague of Junction City; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Howard Wolfe of Plover. He was preceded in death by his parents, son LeRoy, granddaughter Linda Waltenberg, son-in-law David Peplinski and a sister-in-law Johanna Wolfe. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
