Obituary

David D. Wolf, 66, Pittsville, died peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 6, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Pittsville, with Rev. Gary Markworth officiating. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion, Post 153 of Pittsville. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Alan Wolf, Bill Peters, Tom Klinkhammer, Ted Wolf, Joe Jacobson and Matt Darr. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 10:00 am on Monday until service time at St. John's Lutheran Church. David was born on December 22, 1949 in Pittsville, the son of Walter and Dorothy May (Busjahn) Wolf, Sr. and was a 1968 graduate of Pittsville High School. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Susan J. Brandt on July 25, 1970 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Pittsville and they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in 2015. Dave was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Germany, serving from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1972. He was employed at Consolidated Papers at the Consoweld Division for 21 years and then at the Kraft Division for 21 years until his retirement in 2013 after 42 years of service. Dave enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening, lawn care, bird watching, and was a Green Bay Packers fan. He also enjoyed meeting with former co-workers monthly for breakfast. Everyone loved him for his great sense of humor. He loved his family and especially Haley and Hayden, being known as a special Papa to them. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Sue, 3 children and 2 grandchildren, Scott Wolf, Pittsville, Amie (Jason) Gordon of DePere, and their children, Haley and Hayden; and Melissa Wolf of Nekoosa. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Barbara Jagodzinski of Wisconsin Rapids, Alice (Harold) Gaier of Neillsville, Walter (LaVerne) Wolf, Jr. of Pittsville, Ray Wolf and Wayne Wolf, both of Wisconsin Rapids, Roger Wolf, Kate (Bob) Peters, Larry Wolf, and Ron (Kris) Wolf, all of Pittsville, his father-in-law, Albin Brandt, Sr., and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dixie (Jeff) Jacobson and Albin Brandt, Jr., all of Pittsville, Kaye (Steve) Hamm of Wisconsin Rapids and Lori (Scott) Nennig of Marshfield. He is further survived by his Godchildren, Andi Wolf, Christina Klinkhammer and Jan Darr and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Jennifer at birth, a brother, Charles in infancy, his mother-in-law, Joyce Brandt, a brother-in-law, Carl Jagodzinski, and a sister-in-law, Tomeko Wolf.
