David A. Pratt, 85, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Marshfield Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Dr. Laurie Brubaker Davis, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church and Rev. Elizabeth Jacob, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. David was born on March 19, 1937 in Indian Lake Township, Nobles County, Minnesota, to John and Mildred (Ling) Pratt and was a 1955 graduate of Fulda, MN High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers from October 10, 1955 until his honorable discharge on October 9, 1958. He continued to serve in the Army Honor Guard. Dave was employed at Great Plains Gas in Madison, WI from 1960 until 1970, then at Northwestern Railroad, Marshfield, until 1976, and then at Reigel Pumbing until his retirement in 2006. He was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Marshfield. He married Betty J. Zink on June 16, 1972 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty and children, David Arthur Pratt, Jr., Sheri L. Pratt, Barbara K. (Rick) Perkins, Jon D. (Jane) Pratt, Mark A. (Esther) Pratt, Janet (Tim) Zink Morison, Tom Zink, Lisa Zink, Lori (Ron) Engel and Brian (Shari) Zink. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother Richard (Nancy) Pratt and a sister Mary (Tom) Christiansen. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael Zink, a son-in-law Steve Gagliano and a brother Dennis Pratt. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Marshfield Public Library.
