David M. Polster, 61 of Medford, MN and formerly of Marshfield died on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Funeral services will be 11am Friday, November 28, 2014 at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield with Fr. James Logan officiating. Burial will be in the Veterans Field of Honor in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post # 54 of Marshfield.
Visitations will be from 9:30am Friday until time of services at Rembs Funeral Home.
David was born on January 14, 1953 in Marshfield to Harvey and Anna (Hoffman) Polster. He was a 1971 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School in Marshfield. Joining the Army at age 18 right after graduation his career took him to Alaska, Washington, Korea, Germany, Louisiana, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. He received numerous decorations for his service to his country. He was united in marriage to Lynn M. Riedl on November 19, 1990 in Franklin, Louisiana. He retired from his military service to Medford, Minnesota with his wife Lynn on February 28, 1998. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his children David Jr., Jennifer and Jolene, as well as his seven grandchildren: Shanah, Jade, Bubba, Jacqueline, Taralyn, Juliette and Brayden. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, watching old movies and Sunday dinners with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Lynn, children David Polster, Jr. of Blaine, MN, Jolene Polster of Rosemount, MN and Jennifer Villafan of Owatonna, MN and 7 grandchildren. David is further survived by two brothers, Allen (Nancy) Polster of Apple Valley, MN and Keith (Sarah) Polster of Marshfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jerome Polster.
