Darrell C. Kopp, age 71, Stratford, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at House of the Dove, Marshfield, under the care of Compassus Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 9:00 am on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, and serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Redetzke, Michael Redetzke, Samuel Redtzke, Alan Grawien, Brandon Kopp, and Byron Thompson. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Darrell was born on August 17, 1953, in Marshfield, to Clarence and Lucinda (Stini) Kopp, and was a 1971 graduate of Stratford High School. After his education he became employed at Stratford Building Supply where he worked until his retirement.
Darrell was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He received lay ministry training, and he served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, woodworking and computers.
He is survived by his mother, Lucinda, and siblings, Doreen (Peter) Mayer, Dennis (Janell) Kopp, and Darla (Doug) Redetzke. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew Jacob Kopp.
Darrell wanted to give special thanks to Father Sen and Mary Drexler and all others for their visits, cards and well wishes, and the family would like to thank the staff at House of the Dove for their compassionate care.
The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
