Darlene M. Kundinger, 78, Port Edwards died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home Port Edwards. Darlene was born September 4, 1942 in Blenker to Michael and Gertrude (Reick) Kundinger. Ten days later, with her grandparents Mike Sr. and Albina Kundinger as her sponsors she was baptized. Darlene attended High School in Wausau. Later, after 25 years of work which she loved, Darlene retired from ODC in Marshfield. She was a great example of what a big sister, an aunt, a friend should be. Darlene always lit up to see family and friends with a cheery greeting and smile. So many times she would offer something special, a treasure bought just for you. We will miss your way of letting one know how important you were to her. She is survived by her sisters, Geraldine Leithe, Florida, Alice Engeldinger of Estero, FL and Priscilla (Ronald) Fisher of Wausau. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lawrence and sister, Alvera and one niece. The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home for their care of Darlene these past months. If they were still among us, we would also thank Bob and Ruth Pederson with whom she became family for much of her life. We take comfort knowing they are again together and sharing a heavenly reunion. Due to Covid, services were delayed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Keith Kitzhaber will officiate. Burial will be in St. Kilian's Cemetery in Blenker. Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield is assisting the family.
