Dale was born July 15, 1942 in Marshfield to Frank and Eleanore (Schmidt) Weinfurter. He attended Columbus Catholic School. Following his education, he entered the US Army and served as a finance clerk during the Vietnam Conflict, he made the rank of E-5 before his honorable discharge. Dale and Betty had also travelled extensively on their motorcycle, camping throughout the lower 48.

He is further survived by grandchildren: Brandon (Brianna) Miller, Alex Miller, Samantha, Sydney, and Taylor Weinfurter, and Alex & Caitlin Gotz; and one great-grandson: Sage Miller.
