A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker, with Rev. Jesse Burish officiating. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and from 9:30 am on Friday until time of service at St. Kilian's Catholic Church.
Craig was born on January 6, 1972 in Marshfield, the son of Donald and Loyola (Wiskerchen) Wallner. He was a 1990 graduate of Auburndale High School and a 1992 graduate of Mid State Technical College, Wisconsin Rapids. He married Karen R. Lang on September 28, 1996 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker.
Craig had been employed at Donaldson's and then at Consolidated Papers, both in Stevens Point. He then began employment for the Wood County Highway Department where he worked until the present time.
Craig was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and belonged to an unofficial club of hunting family members known as "Da Shack," where he made dumplings which, according to Craig, were best served with plenty of "cold beer and B.S." He was also a member of the Mill Creek Education and Gun Club. He enjoyed golfing and was a Packers, Brewers and a recent Detroit Tigers fan. He was an avid wine maker and many enjoyed the fruits of his labor. Craig was always willing to help everyone and was a true "giver". His giving continues by being an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, a son Ethan Borchardt, a daughter, Jade Wallner, his parents, Donald and Loyola (Wiskerchen) Wallner, a brother, Brad (Terri) Wallner and a sister Kay (Ron, Jr.) Wallner-Stoflet. He is also survived by in-laws, Ray (Ruth) Lang, Teri (Frankie) Nikolai, Mae (Julius) Linzmeier, Sally (Don) Furo, Joyce Lobner, Dick (Rose) Lang, Anne (Mark) Juneman, George (Doreen) Lang, Carol (Doug) Kohlbeck, and Brian (Karen) Lang. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and George Lang, a brother-in-law, Dale Lobner and a nephew, Mark Linzmeier.
