Conrad Leon Mallek, 75, Junction City, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point. He will be at the best party at Christmas to celebrate the birthday of Jesus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City, with Rev. John Ofori-Domah officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and on Monday from 10:00 am until service time at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Conrad was born on September 8, 1939 in Marshfield to Walter and Gertrude (Klish) Mallek. He attended elementary school in Junction City and then P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point. He married Mary A. Reiland on December 2, 1961 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Stevens Point and they were married for 53 years.
Conrad worked for 44 years at Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City and the Moose Lodge, Stevens Point. He also had been a member of the Junction City Village Board and the Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, cutting fire wood and nascar His greatest love were his six grandchildren, Emily, Morgan, Mitchell, Lucas, Evan and Ellie. Conrad and Mary went to all of their events and were ALWAYS on time. He was an avid SPASH Panther fan. He was especially proud of Lucas joining the Marines.
He is survived by his wife, Mary and their 3 sons, James (Lana) Mallek of Junction City, Patrick Mallek of Stevens Point, and Tim (Nancy) Mallek of Plover. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, a sister, Kathy (John) Feltz, 3 brothers, David (Barb) Mallek, Gerald (Karen) Mallek, and Alan (Nancy) Mallek, a brother-in-law, James (Joyce) Reiland and his canine friend and little buddy, Toby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifford Mallek.
The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
