IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie V.
Peplinski
November 12, 1952 – February 29, 2024
Connie V. Peplinski, 71, Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away on February 29, 2024, at Aspirius Hospital in Wausau.
A gathering to remember Connie will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City. Burial will follow at Runkel Cemetery in Junction City. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Benjamin Nelson and Samuel Nelson, and niece and nephews April Gosse, Allen Hogan Jr., Christopher Hogan, and Joshua Hogan. There will not be a formal service held. Instead, her children would like family and friends to remember Connie through sharing of stories, photos, and by simply being together because of her.
Connie was born on November 12, 1952, to David and Velma Wolfe, the oldest of five children. She was a graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and attended a few semesters at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point before getting married. Connie married David Peplinski on July 15, 1972. They were married for almost 34 years when Dave passed on June 17, 2006.
She worked at Associated Bank for over 35 years, retiring only when forced to by her cancer in 2019. Connie loved her team at the bank, and they her, staying in touch even after she retired. Even through her toughest days after her cancer surgery, she found joy and comfort in her family, her friends, through crafting, and giving to others. Connie loved to crochet, making blankets, scarves, hats, you name it, for anyone. Having a baby? Connie will make a blanket for you. Hands cold at work? She'll make you fingerless gloves. Fund raiser? She's in. She worked with charities who would drop off yarn, and in 2023, she made 213 hats, 161 wrist warmers, 3 scarves, and 17 blankets.
Connie is survived by her mother, Velma Wolfe, children Sherry Peplinski and Anthony Peplinski, grandchildren Benjamin Nelson, Henry Wolf, Samuel Nelson, and Kara Peplinski, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She is further survived by sister Elizabeth Sprague.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dave, father David Wolfe, and siblings Leroy Wolfe, Sandra Wolfe, and June Hogan. She was further proceeded by her in-laws, Florian and Stephanie Peplinski.
