Obituary

Colleen (Kipp) Dresser of Vinton, Virginia passed away on January 9, 2022. Colleen was born on April 12, 1953, in Marshfield, Wisconsin to the parents of James and Martha Kipp. She was the oldest of seven chil‐ dren. Colleen attended St John the Baptist Elementary School and she graduated from Columbus High School in 1971. Colleen also at‐ tended the University of Wisconsin Madison and graduated with her degree in accounting in 1987. During her summer breaks she worked at the Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek in the Wis‐ consin Dells. It was there that she met her husband, Eric Dresser. Colleen and Eric married in 1985 and eventually settled in Vinton, Virginia. Colleen worked for the American Red Cross as well as helping out in the family store, "Calhoun & Kipp". She spent the last several years working as the cater‐ ing coordinator at Chik-Fil- A in Roanoke. This became her second home . . . she loved her work there and all the people she worked with. Colleen had a smile that lit up the world. She had many adventures with her hus‐ band, Eric. They went rock climbing, camping, and SCUBA diving. Colleen en‐ joyed gardening, baking, crossword puzzles, and her stained glass art. Her family and friends were so impor‐ tant to her. She loved to text and chat with her cousin Mark, Aunt Kathleen, Uncle Tom and Dorothy. She was known for her caring heart and her main focus in life was loving and caring for others. Colleen is survived by her husband of 37 years, James "Eric" Dresser. She is also survived by her siblings: Randall (Alison Drake) Kipp, Gregory (Lisa) Kipp, Nancy (Frank) Losinski, Jennifer (Joseph) Ploch and nieces and nephews: Amanda (Scott) Schippers, Ryan Kipp, Joseph Losinski, Katherine Losinski, Samuel Losinski, Elizabeth (Matthew) Ripple, William Ploch, and John David Ploch. Great nieces include Sophia and Amelia Schip‐ pers. Colleen also leaves behind a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins who were so im‐ portant to her in life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and James Kipp, and siblings Caroline Kipp & Joseph Kipp. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Rembs Celebration Center.
