Obituary

Clarence Hamus, 92, Junction City, died on Friday, September 21, 2012 at House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield, where he was admitted on July 31. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Rudolph, with Rev. Rolando Onden officiating. Burial will take place in All Souls Cemetery, Rudolph and serving as pallbearers will be nephews, David Bushman, Steve Mews, Donn Huebner, Sonny Ress, Timm Mews, and Dennis Schneider, and friends, Russ Kath and Roger Kowalchyk. The visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and on Tuesday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Clarence was born on April 29, 1920 in Auburndale, the son of Peter and Augusta (Panzloff) Hamus. He married Dorothy C. Weis on June 5, 1948 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville. After their marriage, the Hamus' farmed on the family homestead in the Town of Carson. Clarence was also employed at Consolidated Papers, Wisconsin Rapids. After retiring from farming in 1979 he worked for area farmers and his brother Ervin. Clarence enjoyed working in the woods cutting pulpwood. His life revolved around his family and he was always concerned about their well being. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and a son, Richard (Kathy) Hamus of Junction City. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Krista (Derek) Pavelec of Friendship and their children, Alyssa, Matthew and Raylee; and Sarah (Joseph) Bulcher of Wisconsin Rapids and their baby which is due in December. He is further survived by 2 brothers, Ervin (Delores) Mews and Sylvester Mews, and a sister, Jean Bushman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son at birth, his stepfather, John Mews, 2 brothers Edward Hamus and Harvey Mews and 4 sisters, Frances Oertel, Minnie Ress, Viola Ress and Elaine Huebner. The family would like to thank the many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who visited Clarence at the hospital and the House of the Dove and especially Jean Bushman who brought Dorothy to visit Clarence every day. A special thanks to Palliative Care doctors, nurses and aids at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital and the staff at the House of the Dove for their wonderful care.
