Obituary

Clarence A. "Bud" Ponshock, 82, Marshfield, died on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital, Palliative care, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 18, 2011 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Rozellville. Rev. Eric Berns will officiate and music will be provided by S. Andrews Folk Choir. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 at St. Andrews Church following the service. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Andy, Perry and Joel Ponshock, Ben Stashek, Matt Ponshock, Josh and Fred Ponshock, Garitt Ponshock, and Slade Teresinski. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 am until service time at St. Andrews Church. Clarence was born on May 14, 1929 in Marshfield, the son of Fred and Angeline (Strupp) Ponshock and received his education in Rozellville. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he farmed for a time in the Town of Auburndale and also was a bricklayer for over fifty years. He married Rosemary Weinfurtner in 1954 and they later divorced. He was a member of the International Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 of Stratford, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Badger Aerie #624 of Marshfield. Clarence enjoyed fishing and especially music, playing concertina, accordian, harmonica and stumpfiddle. He is survived by his children, Russ (Erma) Ponshock of Milladore, and their children, Andy (Tiffany), Perry (Jane), and Joel (Shawnya); Angie (Mike) Hug of St. David, AZ, and their children, Alexis (Bruce) Vine and their children, Autumn, Dominic and Ava; Anne (Bob) Thomas of Arpin, and their children, Ben (Jenna) Stashek and their children, Chandra and Ashley; Vernon Ponshock (Christy) of Nekoosa, and children, Tanya (Brandon) Fox, Matt Ponshock (Samantha); Fred (Dar) Ponshock of Auburndale, and their children, Joshua (Becky) and Fred (Katie) Ponshock and their son, Harley Jack; Pat (Tanya) Ponshock of Auburndale, and their children, Jenna, and her son, Stryder, Marissa, and Alex; Steve (Shari) Ponshock of Auburndale, and their children, Simone (Travis) Paul, and their son, Braxton, Garitt Ponshock; Sarah (Randy) Teresinski of Granton, and their children, Karriann and Slade (Melissa); Mark Ponshock (Brenda) of Auburndale, Laurel Dalle Ave of Minocqua, Aaron (Deb) Ponshock of Marshfield, and their children, Adam and Indya; and Clare (Jim) Ladick of Vesper and their children, Ciara, Cole and Jack. He is also survived by twenty one grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister, Adeline Schroeder of Blenker and his special friend, Barb Trachte. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister in infancy, a sister, Geraldine Krause and brothers-in-law, Joe Schroeder and Erv Krause. The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
