Cindy Rae Sweney (Stickland) passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, after a long, courageous battle against numerous illnesses and injuries. Cindy married Jay Sweney in 2003 and moved from Racine to Eau Claire, where they spent their time together happily married.

Cindy loved bowling, visiting the casino, and watching all the wildlife around their cottage and in their backyard in Eau Claire.

Cindy is survived by her husband Jay Sweney and younger brother Jon Stickland. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Mason and Joan Stickland, brothers Jerry Stickland and Thomas Stickland, and sister Chris Mack.

There will be a private celebration of life in the U.P. of Michigan sometime during the summer of 2026. Cindy will be cremated and buried in the Watersmeet Cemetery in Watersmeet, Michigan.
