It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Hunter Higdon, known to his friends and family as “Hunter.” He passed away Friday, April 3rd, 2026, after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family.

Hunter was born in Chattanooga, TN on May 24th, 1995, to James Edward Higdon Jr. and Wendy Lynn Tennant. Growing up, Hunter had a passion for playing video games. At 16, he connected with Erin Donnerbauer through the shared interest of World of Warcraft. After 3 years of long-distance dating, visiting trips, and online chatting, Hunter moved to Marshfield, WI to be with Erin. They were joined in marriage July 26, 2019, and shortly after started their family. They were blessed with two sons, Tobias (5) and Emhyr (4).

He is survived by his spouse, Erin, sons, Tobias and Emhyr, parents, James Jr. and Wendy Tennant, grandparents, James and Carolyn Higdon and Edward Tennant and Cynthia Phillips, siblings, James Higdon III and Caylee Fairbanks (Mark), nephew, Kayden Hise, niece, Rosalee Fairbanks, father and mother in law, Peter and Linda Donnerbauer, and sister in law, Amber Donnerbauer.

Hunter will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father who was committed to providing for and spending time with his family, even through his painful illness. His short life will forever shine through his sons. The family wishes to mourn privately.
