Christine M. Schmitz, 57, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Christine was born on September 29, 1967 in Marshfield to James and Juanita (Burton) Steinwagner. After graduating, she served in the United States Army. She later married and had 3 amazing children.

Christine enjoyed Christmas shopping and decorating for the holidays, sitting around the campfire, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful woman with an amazing heart who unfortunately for a number of years was often overshadowed by her struggles.

She is survived by her children, Melissa (James) Leystra, Jessica (Paul) Tessmer, and Zac (Amanda Oliver) Schmitz, and 2 grandchildren, Charlotte and Wyatt.

She is further survived by her sisters, Marcia (James) Belke, Phyllis (Brian) Schneider, and Linda (Patrick) Engevold, and brother in law, James Hoffman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Juanita, and sister, Marilyn "Susie" Hoffman.
