Chester "Chet" C. Kitowski, 83, Junction City, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery, Stevens Point, at a later date. Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, is assisting the family.
Chet was born on May 27, 1938, in the Town of Carson, Portage County, to Anton and Helen (Firkus) Kitowski. He was a 1957 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School. His marriage to Janet Moscinski on April 30, 1960, was later annulled.
Chet worked a variety of jobs, construction, truck driver, asbestos removal, but mostly farmed in the Town of Carson where he also served for a time as Assessor for the township.
Chet had been a member of the Junction City Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. Chet was an outdoorsman, enjoying spending time outside and hunting. He also liked Country music and Western TV shows.
Chet is survived by his longtime companion, Maryann Demski, and his children, Dawn (Steve) Pacholik of West Chicago, IL, Deanne (Tom) Kuenzi of Manitowoc, Kevan Kitowski of Junction City, Denise Lewis of Waynesville, NC, Keith (Sharon) Kitowski of Fenton, MI, Kris Kitowski of Jefferson, IN, Ken (Sherry) Varga of Stevens Point, and Kory (Nicole) Kitowski of Green Bay. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kyera and Brandon Lewis, Philip and Elizabeth Kuenzi, and Rose and Pearl Varga, and a great grandson, Leland Carver. He is further survived by his brother, Ronald Kitowski of King, his children's mother Janet Iwanski, and his companion Maryann's children and their families.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kitowski, and siblings, Adeline, Bernadine, Eileen, Mary Jane in infancy, David and Melvin.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be designated at a later date.
