A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. James Weighner officiating. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Marshfield and was a 1962 graduate of Columbus High School in Marshfield. He attended technical college in Wausau. Chuck worked for many years at the Marshfield News Herald as a typesetter. He later worked for Marshfield Door Company until he retired in 2003. He was an avid sports fan. He collected cards and memorabilia. He enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, and football. He was involved in youth sports, coaching little league baseball in Marshfield. He also enjoyed playing golf with friends and relatives. Chuck always wore a smile and was a warm conversationalist. He could talk to anyone about many subjects, but he particularly enjoyed talking about his favorite sports teams. He followed the University of Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer football teams, the Marquette University and Milwaukee Bucks basketball teams, and the Milwaukee Brewer baseball team. He also enjoyed local sports, following Marshfield Columbus and Senior High School sports teams. Chuck never missed an opportunity to say hello, whether at the Burger King with friends, volunteering at Saint Joseph's Hospital, serving at the Knights of Columbus Hall, or walking the halls at the Aster. On April 20, 1996 Chuck was united in marriage to Mary Ann Huettl at St. John the Baptist Church. This marriage gave Chuck an instant family. He eagerly got to know Mary Ann's six children, their partners, and their children. Chuck enjoyed watching the grandchildren grow up and took great interest in their academic and sports pursuits. He enjoyed their large family gatherings, playing games, and the bustle and laughter of his grandchildren. Had the Corona virus not interfered, the family would have gathered to celebrate the Holiday season. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Ann Brinkman, her six children, and nine grandchildren. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of sending flowers, please consider a donation to one of Chuck's favorite charities, Shirley's House of Hope in Marshfield and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
