Catherine Anna (Katy Specht) Reiss Konig, 96, died in the early morning on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Auburndale where committal services will be held by Rev. Jesse Burish and military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. The visitation will be held from 9:00 am on Saturday until service time at Rembs Funeral Home. Catherine was born on October 27, 1919 at home in Marshfield to Frank and Rosa (Albrecht) Specht. She attended St. John's Parochial School and was a 1937 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. Immediately upon graduation, she accepted a nanny position in Madison. She was united in marriage to Robert Reiss in June of 1942. She enlisted in the WAVES in 1943, serving on the east coast. Katy was honorably discharged in 1946. After the war Katy and Bob settled in Milwaukee. Bob died in 1977. Katy was remarried in October 1981 to Robert Konig. They lived in Milwaukee and later relocated to Mountain. She and Bob moved to Brookdale Assisted Living in 2008. Bob died in August 2013. Katy was very involved in Girl Scouts when her daughter Maria was young. Katy is survived by her daughter, Maria (Vince) Giannattasio and granddaughter, Sarah Aumann, all of Milwaukee. She is also survived by a stepson, Robert Konig of Green Bay. She is further survived by her sister, Mary (Heinz) Beyer and brother, Norbert (Rosella) Specht, all of Marshfield and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Specht of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Cynthia Specht of Marshfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harold, Raymond and Kenneth and sister, Irene.
