Carolyn “Dee Dee” Sutton, 83, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026 surrounded by family. Her relationship with Christ brought her immense peace in her twilight years. She prayed daily for her six children, handing them over to God’s care until confidently joining Him herself.

Born on May 1, 1943 in Richland Center to John E. Sutton and Carolyn (Cockroft) Hannawell. Dee graduated from Aquinas High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin, class of ’61.

During her school days, Dee discovered her passion for creativity, integrating music, arts and crafts into every phase of her life. She developed her rich vibrato in school choir and later had a successful Country & Western career, performing as the lead singer for numerous bands. She also performed solo, accompanying herself on the keyboard and guitar.

It was hard to pin this curious creative down. She jumped at the chance to try new things and go to new places. As a military wife, she travelled to Germany and Turkey. As a military mother, she seized opportunities to support her children at their duty stations in California, Hawaii and Nevada.

Her professional life was as diverse and vibrant as her travels, in the 1970s, she proudly owned “The Spiderweb”, an iron-on transfer t-shirt shop in Sheboygan. She later enjoyed working as a substance abuse counselor in Hawaii and as a housemother in various capacities and locations over the years. Known for her sharp wit and warm personality, she was once voted one of the best bartenders in Fallon, Nevada while working at The Headquarters Bar & Casino.

She is survived by her children, William Jon Letvinchuck (Angie), Cheryl Ann Barker, Robert Thomas Letvinchuck (Betsy), Michel Rae Driscoll (Jeff Duggan) and Lorraine Rose Flores, grandchildren: Troy, Tiffany, Yvonne, Benjamin, Austin, Brandon, Dustin, Dylan, Devyn, Steven, Ryan, Cameron, Gabriel and Liliana, and great grandchildren: Leah, Hailey, Dylan, Isabella, Ezekiel, Elijah, Josiah, Emilia, Declan and Daisy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Sutton and Carolyn Hannawell, brother, Richard Andrews, daughter, Debbie Dee Richards, son-in-law Dwayne Barker and grandson, Christian Schwab.

Dee’s children would like to extend a special note of heartfelt gratitude to Robert Gundy and Susan Huber for their longtime care, love and friendship to both their mother and to their sister Debbie.
