Carol J. Truchinski, 85, formerly of Pittsville, died on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at The Cottages of Brushy Creek, Greer, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Pittsville, with Rev. Gary Markworth officiating. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, and from 10:00 am on Wednesday until service time at St. John's Lutheran Church. Carol was born on March 31, 1930 in the Town of Hansen, Wood County, to Lawrence and Evelyn (Robertson) Hansen. She attended North Hansen Grade School and was a graduate of Pittsville High School. She married Raymond Truchinski on August 25, 1951 in the Town of Arpin. He died on December 17, 2013. She worked as a secretary / bookkeeper for 3 years in Milwaukee before her marriage. After their marriage she and her husband farmed in the Town of Wood for 13 years. In 1964 they moved to Wisconsin Rapids where she was employed at Consolidated Papers until retiring in 1985. The Truchinski's then moved to Beverly Hills, FL. And lived there until ill health in 2005 when they moved to Greer, SC. She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Barbara) Truchinski of Greer, SC, Robert (Kim) Truchinski of Beverly Hills, FL and Ronald Truchinski of Marshfield, 2 granddaughters and 9 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Robert Hansen of Albuquerque, NM. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Lois Morzewski.
