Carol J. Berry, 85, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at home.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will take place at McMillan Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.

Carol was born on October 1, 1940 in Montevideo, Minnesota to Carl and Myrtle (Zielsdorf) Smith. She attended school in Lindstrom, Minnesota and then went on to serve in the United States Army from 1958-1962. She was united in marriage to Elmer Berry on June 8, 1961 in Heidelberg, Germany. He passed away on April 30, 2021.

Carol enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, plastic canvas, taking care of the cats, Solitaire, and Soduko.

She is survived by her children, Marie (Todd) Cattanach of Chili, Ellen Berry and Dean Berry, both of Marshfield. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Shanna Berry and a great grandchildren, Aaron and Sophia Lynn Wiesner.

She is further survived by her brother, Harold (Darla) Smith of Spencer, Carl Smith Jr. of Osakis, MN, and Barbara Walsch of Colby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Edward, sisters Shirley (Rose) Gose and Marilyn (Jim) Werner, sister in law Phyllis Smith, stepmother Konstancia Rekis-Smith, and stepbrother Ojars Rekis.
