Obituary

Carey Lee Sanders was born to Howard E. Sanders and Frances (Vinney) Sanders on February 17, 1958 at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, WI.

Carey grew up in Humbird, WI and it was indeed a very good place to grow up and play.

He attended Humbird Elementary School grades 1-6. He then attended Lincoln High School Alma Center WI grades 7-12. Graduating with the Class of 1976.

He was employed a few summers with Northern Christmas Tree Growers as a teenager, along with many of the boys his age in the area.

Carey married his first wife Debra Anderson in 1976 and together they had a daughter, Kristen.

A short time later he enlisted in the Navy. Soon after his discharge from the Navy he was divorced. Carey had a relationship with a special friend and together they had a son, Carey. The relationship was not ongoing but they remained friends and shared their son.

Carey had many adventures and lived many places, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Illinois to name a few.

He made a trip to Alaska once with some friends and worked painting water towers as well, which took him around the United States.

He met his second wife, Jeanette Springstead. They dated for a while and were eventually married in 1989. Together they had a son, Christopher.

They spent many years together. Most of their married life together was spent living in Loyal, WI. Along with their sons Carey and Christopher. Carey worked locally while living in the Loyal area. He was a hard and dependable worker.

After they divorced Carey moved back to the Humbird area, living in Humbird, Alma Center, Merrillan and Fairchild at different times. He spent a few winters in Arizona where he met his pal and companion Bear, a very friendly and energetic Dog. He kept Carey going a bit longer.

His favorite pass time of late was visiting friends and family... He could talk for hours.

Carey passed away on November 17, 2023 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI following a battle with Cancer. He was surrounded by family.
