Bruce L. Kemnitz, 77, Friendship, died on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Mound View Memorial Hospital, Friendship.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Burial in Yolo Cemetery, Town of Fremont, Clark County, will follow the service and then a luncheon will be held at Our Father's House Church in Chili. The family will receive relatives and friends at Rembs Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 am until service time.
Bruce was born on April 25, 1938 in Madison, Wisconsin, to Gustave and Vera (Alexander) Kemnitz. He attended elementary and high school in Madison and after his family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he graduated there in 1957. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge he began constructing elevators for Otis Elevator Company in Madison and later was an electrician at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay until his retirement. After retirement the Kemnitz's moved to a rural home in Friendship.
He married Gayle M. Booth on January 28, 1978 in DePere.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping. After retirement in his later years when he became disabled, he enjoyed his computer and following Nascar, the Packers and the Badgers.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle, a daughter, Kathleen Kemnitz of Madison and 2 grandsons, Caleb and Gideon Smith. He is also survived by a brother, William (Lynn) Kemnitz of Cottage Grove. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Kemnitz.
