Bonnie M. Bechtolt Babler passed away on December 10, 2021, at the House of the Dove.
Bonnie was born on October 7, 1919, in Browntown, WI, to Ervin and Ella (Jackson) Bechtolt.
Bonnie attended the Michaels County School and then Monroe High School. Upon graduation, Bonnie attended Miss Groves Secretarial School in Madison, WI. Bonnie married Captain Harris Babler on June 10, 1944, after his return from leave from his base in the Aleutian Islands. Harris was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1947 and they moved to Marshfield soon after. After Harris's retirement they spent their winters at their home in Sarasota, FL, with many friends. They enjoyed golf, trips to the beach, and many happy times together there.
Bonnie loved gardening in all her beautiful flower beds. Bonnie and Harris had many great trips to Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe with family and friends. Bonnie was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church and PEO.
Bonnie was predeceased by Harris, daughters Mari and Barbara, sons-in-law Drew McCullagh, Hollister Young, and Chris Vollrath. She is survived by daughter Jill of Centennial, CO, grandchildren Martha (Matt) of Madison, WI, Tyler of Scottsdale, AZ, Ross (Eli) of Elmhurst, IL, Scott (Annika) of Greenwood Village, CO, Gretchen (Jason) of Whitefish Bay, WI, Heather (Shirin) of Napa, CA, and Chris of Portland, OR. She is also survived by great grandchildren Allie, Erik and Hollie of Greenwood Village, CO, and Drew and Rhett of Elmhurst, IL. A very special thanks to caregiver Darlene and good friend Carolyn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 29, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield at 11:00 am. The family will greet people before the service, beginning at 10:00 am.
