Bill C. "Pie" Schmitt, 61 of Marshfield died unexpectedly on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the emergency room at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Memorial service will be 7pm Wednesday, September 17th at the Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. James Logan officiating. Family will receive relatives and friends from 4pm Wednesday until time of services at Rembs Funeral Home. Bill was born on March 27, 1953 in Marshfield to Robert and Doris (Laessig) Schmitt. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and received an Associated Degree in Architecture from Eau Claire Technical Institute. He was united in marriage to Lori A. Tollefson on April 11, 1980 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Bill worked for Architecture Environs, Design Unlimited and Boson Company as a draftsman throughout his career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, golfing, and shooting pool. Bill was a member Marshfield Elks Lodge # 665. He is survived by his wife Lori, sons Chase (Jessica) Schmitt of Denver, CO, Jared (fiancée Becki Derrick) Schmitt of Woodbury, MN and two granddaughters, Avery and Ariana Schmitt. He is further survived by two brothers Tom (Mary) Schmitt of DeForest, DuWayne (Jill) Schmitt in Portland, OR and two sisters Lois (Ed) Holt and Diane (Philip) Dallman both of Marshfield.
