Betty J. Ress, age 89, of Spencer passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Her funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Rembs Funeral Home. Marshfield, with Chaplin Renata Hinrich officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at Rembs Funeral Home on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until time of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Huber, Scott Remus, Chad Ress and Corey Ress.

Betty was born on January 11,1935, in Marshfield, the daughter of Henry and Viloa (Hamus) Ress. She went to Marshfield Schools. Betty was united in marriage to William "Bill" Ress on May 31, 1953.

Betty worked at Marshfield Cannery and Figis for twenty-five years. She also loved to cook and bake. Betty raised ten children on a beautiful dairy farm west of Spencer with her husband. She had a great passion for canning, decorating, gardening and her flower gardens.

Betty was an amazing cook, you never walked away hungry when you went to visit her. She will be missed by all. In her later years, she spent a lot of time with her two younger grandsons Will and Treyden and her dog Oreo.

She will especially be missed by her surviving children, Chad Ress (Scott), Cory (Josephine) Ress, Susan Huber, Robin (Rodger) Eilers, Connie (John) Clyde, Alan (Brenda) Ress, Dean Ress and her daughter-in-law Karen Ress.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandon, Will, Treyden, James, Jenny, Tara, Anna, Tyler, Dakota, Shawn, Autumn, Trent, Kaylyn, Denny and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Betty is further survived by her brothers Lloyd (Ruthy) Ress, Floyd Ress, Henry Jr. (Lori) Ress and brothers-in-law, Ralph Ress, James Knutson.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her children Tammy, Willy Jr., Randy, her grandson Justin, and son-in-law James Huber.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Mona, Darlene, Charlene, Viola, brothers-in-law, James, Tony, Ronald, Herold, Alvin, Emery, Hank and Harold and sisters-in-law, Geraldine, Marge, Marie, Shirley, Leona.
