Betty was born on March 27, 1933, on the family farm in Lynn to George and Dorothy (Heinrich) Schmitz. She attended Granton schools and Marshfield High School. Betty loved gardening, baking, cooking, and most of all - spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was honored as the Granton Grandparent of the Year in 2008. Betty was best known for her Sunday chicken dinners with rice tators, and all the fixings, dumplings, and sauerkraut. She was also known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies, Christmas cookies, and candies.
Betty enjoyed bowling for Lynn Dairy and playing softball and volleyball at Chili Corners.
