Betty Jane C. Sadowska, 92, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Alice and Louises Family Home Assisted Living.
There will be no public service.
Betty was born on July 27, 1928 in Marshfield, to Robert and Angeline (Arnett) Hanson, Sr. and attended Marshfield public schools. She was united in marriage to Richard L. Sadowska on October 19, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield. He died on January 27, 2002.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Betty had been employed at a dental office with Dr. Knoblock for six years and then as an optical assistant for Dr. Gerald Fehrenbach until his retirement in 1986. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1969.
Betty was respected by family, friends and neighbors for being strong willed and was fiercely independent until the very end. She was Norwegian stubborn which was both frustrating and endearing at the same time. She deeply loved her family and there was nothing she wouldn't have done for them. She truly enjoyed game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune. The last book she read was about Alex Trebek, being an avid reader.
She is survived by her son Frederick Sadowska, daughter-in-law, Francine Sadowska, and five grandchildren, James (Dawn) Sadowska, Heidi (Dan) Stangl, Kurt (Shannon) Sadowska, Erick (Angel) Sadowska and Timothy (Anne) Sadowska and nine great grandchildren, Michael Sadowska, James Andrew Kopf, Kati Sadowska, Jakob Sadowska, Alayna Sadowska, Ryan Sadowska, Addy Sadowska, Sidney Sadowska, and James Sadowska, one great great grandson, Lukas Sadowska, and a step great granddaughter, Aria Stoner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Larry Richard Sadowska, a sister, Margaret Birling and a brother, Robert Hanson, Jr.
Betty had a huge appreciation for her care givers at the end. A special thank you to Alice and Louises Assisted Living and those caregivers, Jen, Tammy, Melody, Stacy and Lisa.
