Bethany Jo Schulz-AKA-Princess Bethany of Marshfield, passed away from her earthly life, with her parents holding her hands, on August 30th, 2026 at North Shore Colonial Center in Colby, WI, under the care of St. Croix Hospice. Her family thanks all who have cared for her there for the last 12 years. St. Croix, we thank you for all your guidance and care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, September 10th, 2026 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Parish, located at 1414 W 5th St, Marshfield, WI. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 at the church. Burial will follow, with a celebration of life meal at Rembs Celebration Center. The funeral will be livestreamed on this page at the start of the service.

Bethany was born the middle daughter of Wayne Schulz Jr and Mary (Wingert) Schulz on July 30, 1985. She joined her big sister, April and would be followed by her little sister, Tracey just shy of a year later. Bethany was gifted to us as a disabled child, who was so loved, and who deeply loved back to all who knew her.

Bethany attended Mass with her family at Our Lady of Peace Parish. She was confirmed in the Catholic Faith as a teenager. Though disabled, Bethany had a beautiful singing voice-just like mommy-and she loved singing along to hymns that she had memorized. Bethany graduated from Marshfield High School in 2006.

As a youngster, Bethany loved to harass her “baby sister” any time she could. In her teen years, that became adoration for Tracey, as she was such a great care-giver. Bethany traveled all over, watching Tracey play club volleyball, becoming a huge fan. Bethany loved being with her big sister April, who read books to her, watched movies with her, and generally was a great sister to her. She also liked playing pranks, such as drinking her daddy’s coffee when he turned his back. Bethany came to love several things that most people never think highly about. This included things like going to the dentist for teeth cleanings, and getting a new toothbrush and toothpaste when finished. She loved getting cans of Diet Pepsi for birthday presents, and celebrating those birthdays at her favorite high end restaurant-McDonalds. This was always her favorite, and most requested place to eat. Bethany also appreciated the finer movies and shows: Mary Poppins, Wizard of Oz, Home Alone, and The Flintstones were her perennial favorites. She adored Fred and actually received a Fred doll from friends. He slept in her bed every night, alongside her Baby Angel doll, whom Bethany named.

Family was so important to Bethany! She loved to see her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. She especially looked forward to and enjoyed the annual Wingert family camping weekend as well as the holidays. She loved camping and wouldenjoy sitting by the fire, passing out the fixings for s’mores to everyone. Bethany also loved the annual Christmas sleigh ride with the whole relation out at Pine Ranch. In her teens Bethany actually had a chance to work at McDonalds wiping tables as part of her school plan. Oh she was proud to wear that uniform shirt with her nametag! She also worked for several years at ODC in Wisconsin Rapids. Bethany loved to hold and kiss newborn babies. She was so gentle with them. Her nephew Conrad was the last one she got to do that with. She was so proud to be his aunt.

Bethany loved watching sports and especially loved the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. She even was gifted tickets in the wheelchair area to attend the Packers game for Brett Favre’s 200th consecutive start. She loved being there! We took turns hosting Packers parties, and Bethany was always in the midst of the party. She needed her High Fives when the Packers scored, and she enjoyed the time with our friends, and their families. You needed to keep an eye on your open beer, because otherwise she would steal it and drink some.

Bethany is survived by her parents, Wayne Jr and Mary Schulz, Sister April Schulz, her brother-in-law Jason Robb, her sister Tracey Fox-Stevens, and brother-in-law Charles Stevens, her nephew Conrad Fox, and bonus niece and nephew Ava and Max Stevens. She is also survived by her ex-brother-in-law, Greg Fox and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins from both sides of the family. Bethany was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wayne Sr. and Margaret Schulz, Conrad Michael Wingert, Joanne (Lang) (Wingert) Rifleman, and step grandfather, William Rifleman. She was also preceded in death by her uncle and Aunt Brian and Jackie (Schulz) Pickett, Aunt Cathleen (Winch) Wingert, Uncle Ronnie Thomas, and Cousin Tyrone Thomas.

Though born with several disabilities, Bethany was such a great teacher to all who knew her. She showed us all how to be gentle and love unconditionally, being kind to everybody, and sometimes being a prankster in good fun.

Bethany will be missed greatly by all who knew her. We know she is resting with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is looking down upon us, watching over us until we see her again. Whenever Bethany left, you always knew you’d see her again, because she would leave you with a kiss, a wave goodbye and a hearty, “See ya Monday!”
