Obituary

Bernadine B. Wayerski, 82 of Marshfield died on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Born July 1, 1931 to Michael and Rose (Palan) Brock in Blenker, WI. Bernadine attended schools in the Milladore-Auburndale area graduating from Auburndale High School in 1949 as valedictorian of her class. She then attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing becoming a registered nurse in 1952. She practiced her profession with great satisfaction, compassion, and dedication working forty years in the operating room at St. Joseph's Hospital being instrumental in establishing neurological and open-heart programs. She held positions as staff nurse, head nurse, and operating room supervisor, retiring in 1993 due to declining health. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield and most recently of St. Joesph's in Menomonie, WI. She had membership in the PCCW, Wisconsin Nurses Association and the National Association of Operating Room Nurses. She and Robert Wayerski were married at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore on October 15, 1953. They spent 53 years together making their home in Marshfield, Pittsville, Lake DuBay, and Auburndale. Robert died February 20, 2006. She moved to Marshfield in 2003 and moved to Menomonie in December 2008 to live with her son David and daughter-in-law Nicki. She enjoyed nature, especially beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes and enjoyed growing flowers, traveling, fishing, reading, kept photo and memorial albums, and scrapbooks. She was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. Most of all her life centered on her family who never forgot the depth of her love, her selfless giving, and caring. She cherished her sons, their wives, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as her many friends. She believed each had a special part in her life. She had a deep faith, and said faith, family, and friends were the most important parts of her life. Bernadine was a beloved mother to three sons: Bruce (Theresa) Wayerski of Pittsville, Gary Wayerski and David (Nicki) Wayerski of Menomonie. Loving grandmother to Cheri (Mike Baumgarten) Wayerski of Spencer, Ryan (Tonya) Wayerski and Rhonda (Dane) Luther of Pittsville, Nick (Lee Ann) Wayerski of Marshfield, Erik (Heather) Wayerski of Stevens Point, Nicole Daul, Patrick Wayerski and Krista Wayerski of Durand, Jenna Wayerski of Eau Claire, Autum (Aaron Apel) Neuville, Brandon Wayerski and Erica Wayerski of Menomonie, Brandi Falconio of Waldorf, MD. She is a special great grandmother to Mackayla, Riley, Landyn, Taryn, Braxton, and Alba Wayerski; Dylan, Dawson, and Dayton Luther; Alexander and Brooklyn Baumgarten; Marek and Rainer Neuville; Hudson and Harlow Apel; Isabella, Marcello, and Olivia Falconio; Dylan Daul; Dillon Daul and Aly Wayerski. She is further survived by sister-in-law Maragret Wojtalewicz, Marion Wojtalewicz, Theresa (Norbert) Strojny of Stevens Point, Delores (Ervin) Mews of Junction City and Patricia Brock of Miladore; and a brother-in-law James Wayerski of Stevens Point, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wayerski, her parents Mike and Rose (Palan) Brock, two brothers Tony and Harland Brock, a sister, Lucille Voight, and infant sister Delores Brock, a granddaughter Dana Rae Wayerski, and great granddaughter Frances Lou Apel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Milladore. The visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. A combined parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the Marshfield Clinic Medical Research Foundations for lupus or heart research. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
