Beatrice M. Verhulst, 94, Marshfield, passed on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Safe Haven Senior Care, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 28, 2026 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Dan Thelen will officiate. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Beatrice was born on August 3, 1932 in Marshfield to Frank and Margaret (Bohman) Resch. She was a homemaker for most of her life and later worked retouching photographs for John H. Keel. Beatrice was united in marriage to Kenneth P. Verhulst on September 4, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church. He passed away on March 4, 2015.
Beatrice enjoyed sewing, gardening, roller skating, and baking - especially zucchini cookies and cucumber soup.
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Sheveney) Verhulst of Marshfield, Cheryl (Wally) Hribar of Prior Lake, MN, Barb (Tim) Nagel of Marshfield, and Diane (Matt) Ruzic of Rhinelander. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jeremy (Erin), Chris, Nikki (Jennifer), Abbi (Lee), Eddie (fiancé - Kayla), Mandy (Nate), Andy (Stacey), Amy, Carrie (Travis), Coy (Kate) and Courtney (Nate), 8 great grandchildren, Eli (Reegan), Kaiden, Sydney, Alexis, Morquis (Kenzie), Luke, Zack, and Ciera, and 1 great great granddaughter, Elliana.
She is further survived by sister in law, Corrine Verhulst in West Village Lake, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter, Angel Hribar.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Safe Haven and her neighbors, Gary and Sandy Strey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. John’s Catholic Church or Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS).
