Barbara M. "Tillie" Elmer, 98, Arpin, died on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Bethel Center, Arpin. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2013 at United Church of Christ, Arpin, with Rev. Don Adams officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will take place in Arpin Cemetery at a later date. Barbara was born on January 12, 1915 in Arpin, the daughter of Nick and Rachel Elmer. She attended Powers Bluff Elementary School and was a graduate of Bethel Academy, Arpin. She also graduated from Wood County Normal School. After her education she taught school for a few years. She then became employed at Spiegel Catalogue in Chicago and later at JC Penny's in Milwaukee until her retirement. She returned to the Arpin area in 2008. Tillie is survived by a sister, Irene Elmer of Arpin. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Balbena, Luella, Jake, Gertrude and Viola.
