Barbara M. Salzmann, 89 died on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate and Cindy Penker) will be the organist for St. John's Church Funeral Choir. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of service at St. John's Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Barbara was born on October 2nd, 1925 in Wisconsin Rapids, to Anton and Agatha Ashbeck. She married Alfred J. Salzmann on August 23rd, 1947 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Al died on January 19th, 2014.
Barbara and her husband Al were lifelong dairy farmers in the Town of Marshfield. After retiring in 1988 they moved to Wisconsin Rapids. Barbara was involved in Lady KC's, and Pro-Life.
She is survived by 2 sons, Bruce (Sheri) Salzmann of Cody, WY and John (Lori) Salzmann of Marshfield. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Maj. Renee D. Salzmann, U.S.A.F. in South Korea, Kristie L. Salzmann working for the USFS in Powell, WY and Steven Salzmann, Marshfield. She is further survived by 4 sisters, Rita Neumann-McNulty(Gene), Mildred Hoffmann; Charlotte Bean, and Eunice Vechinski (Tom). Sisters-in-law Joan Ashbeck, Adeline Hladilek, Brothers-in-law Rudy and Joe Salzmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents Anton & Agatha Ashbeck, her husband Alfred Salzmann, and 3 brothers James, Anthony and Arnold Ashbeck,
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in her name to St. John's Catholic Church which will be designated to help the less fortunate.
