Barbara J. Bandow, 71, Stratford, died on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her home in the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford with Rev. Robert Romberg officiating. Burial will take place in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, March Rapids. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 am on Saturday until service time at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on March 26, 1944 in March Rapids to Lloyd and Helen (VanDreel) Treankler and was a 1962 graduate of Stratford High School. She was united in marriage to John D. Bandow on March 26, 1965 at Bible Church in Stratford.
Throughout her adult life, Barbara was an exceptional homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her summers enjoying watching the birds, working in her flower beds, gardening, canning, and tending to her many berry patches. She spent many hours doing various crafts and crocheting beautiful afghans that she loved to give as gifts. Anyone who knew Barbara knew of her great love of chickens. Her collection of 800 figurines and other items was admired by many. Barbara also enjoyed her adventures to various casinos with her special group of friends, spending time chatting and enjoying each other's company. Barbara's children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she will be greatly missed by all of them.
Barbara is survived by her husband John, and children David (Rose) Bandow of New Berlin and their sons, Charles and Jayden; Beth (Dave Sedlacek) Lane of Marathon and children, Crystal, Kelli (Dylan Kirkley) and Dustin; Rachel (Jerry) Greisinger of Antigo and children, Casey and Claire; James (Patti) Bandow of Stratford and children Katie and Julia (Brandon) Davis and their son Liam. She is further survived by a brother, Darrell "Pete" Treankler of Marshfield; 2 sisters, Mary White of Wausau and Kathy (Ted) Weis of Deerbrook and a sister-in-law, Judy Treankler of Marshfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Treankler and a sister, Donna Kilty.
The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
