Arthur E. Steczynski, 83, Stratford, died on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital, Marshfield, the result of an auto accident. There will be no public visitation or service. Arthur was born on November 19, 1927 in Chicago, the son of Thomas and Genevieve (Przybylowski) Steczynski. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Japan during World War II. He married Bernice M. Weigel on February 7, 1948. Art had been employed as a journeyman carpenter and was a skilled craftsman as well as a stained glass artist and an avid train enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Bernice, and five children, Steve Steczynski of Broomfield, Colorado, Renee (Terry) Schultz, of Marshfield, Shari Steczynski of Marshfield, Suzette (Mike) Schaefer of Marathon, and Christopher Steczynski of Stratford. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Nicole in 1979 and two brothers. Memorials may be designated in his name to the Disabled American Veterans.
